If you are concerned about how your face looks because of dark spots or sun damage, NABI Medical Aesthetics can provide a skin analysis at our Scranton, PA office to determine if you qualify for noninvasive intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy. Using the state-of-the-art Lumecca device, Dr. Michael Klingerman is equipped to perform an IPL photofacial, which is a rejuvenating skin treatment for hyperpigmentation concerns on the neck and face. The intense waves of light energy raise the temperature of the skin just enough to set off the natural healing process and boost collagen production. As the added nutrients take effect, you should see a healthier complexion with an improved tone and decreased spots.

IPL photofacials are chosen at NABI Medical Aesthetics for the restorative qualities. A few of the benefits that our Scranton, PA patients enjoy from their IPL photofacials are:

  • Restored skin tone and feel
  • Balancing of pigment and dark spots
  • Revitalized, rejuvenated skin appearance
  • Calming, spa-like procedure that boosts your total skin health

Am I A Good Candidate for IPL?

An IPL photofacial works deep within the layers of your skin to treat several complexion concerns (particularly brown lesions and sun spots) with minimal or no recovery time. Ideal candidates for IPL treatments at NABI Medical Aesthetics will have several concerns with their skin, such as rosacea, sun damage, brown spots (hyperpigmentation), rough texture, visible pores, redness, melasma, age and sun spots, or broken capillaries. Dr. Klingerman will assess your skin to see if you are a good candidate for an IPL photofacial during your private consultation.

IPL is performed in around 20 – 30 minutes in one of our private treatment rooms. To get started, we will clean and dry your skin before covering your eyes with protective goggles. The IPL photofacial is performed using the Lumecca handheld wand that will pass over the skin while emitting pulses of light energy. While you may feel mild discomfort during the photofacial, it's generally tolerable. Following the treatment, it will be crucial for you to protect your skin from the sun and refrain from picking at it while it heals. With Lumecca, patients only need 1 – 2 treatments for optimal results instead of the usual 4 – 6 treatments required by other IPL devices.

I had received a gift certificate for botox and Danielle was my nurse for the procedure. After discussing my concerns, she suggested IPL and microneedling. I am very satisfied with the results and much appreciative to Danielle for her knowledge and kindness. She is my person at Nabi!

About Us
How much does IPL cost?

Your complexion issues are unique, so your cost for a photofacial will depend on your unique condition. NABI Medical Aesthetics offers monthly specials and we take many forms of payment. During your initial visit, your technician can help estimate your cost and recommend the number of treatments needed to match your goals.

How quick are the results from IPL?

Improvements can usually be seen following your IPL treatment, but optimal results develop a month after all of your treatments are done. It is normal for your skin to respond differently to each treatment. You should notice a gradual improvement of redness, blotchiness, age spots, and sun spots.

What are the possible side effects of IPL?

Most patients have mild, temporary side effects, like redness, swelling, crusting, blisters, or bruising. This should subside in a few days. Your skin will be extra sensitive to the sun, and excessive sun exposure will negatively impact your results. We also recommend using sunscreen to protect your skin and prevent damage like spots and redness.
